View from the window

An intense sunset in February really lifted my spirits when the days were still relatively short but definitely getting noticeably lighter. Every window offered a different silhouette.

Hard to believe we are already almost at the Spring Equinox (Autumn Equinox the Southern Hemisphere) and we'll all share similar amounts of light and day before it heads back along an increasingly diverging path.

Here in Scotland we get the double treat of the Equinox and a partial Solar Eclipse (94% in the North) on Friday, which feels very fitting to mark the change in the balance of light.

Close up in brown tones

My parents bought me a proper camera and close up lens (60mm Macro lens) so I've been enjoying getting up close to with around the house. So keen for warm weather and garden delights to get amongst though I'll still need my trusty old compact for wider angle shots.

Look up, Look down, Look out

Looking up at the seagulls soaring beneath snow filled clouds.
Looking down at the cobbled streets.
Looking through the sleet plastered against the window like silvered metal.

Hello 2015 - better late than never. I forgot my password so got locked out of my blog for ages. Also not feeling bloggy in general. These grey photos fit the mood of the weather here today.
