I rarely buy anything non essential these days but I needed a treat. I really really needed a treat, so, tired of forever wrestling with ear buds that fall out of my ears whenever I move, I bought some proper white headphones. And yes, the colour was a bigger factor in my choice than sound quality. I can't afford quality. If I have to buy cheap then it must at least make me happy to look at them. And to be honest, they sound fine to me, definitely not amazing, but perfectly good for blocking out the sound of vans sitting outside with their engines running.
But in the mornings there is a sound better than my music, the birds out in the garden. They seem to have been especially chirpy of late, which I tend to expect more in Spring than in Winter so it feels like a lovely bonus track to the season. I haven't taken any good photo's of the wee critters, they are too busy avoiding cats pose for pics, so instead these are my Christmas deco birds to represent my flighty feathered friends.

January Whites
I decided to revive my old tradition of posting some white things in January. My love of all things white is as strong as ever and is always heightened in winter time. When the garden begins to grow in Spring so does my love of colour. Lets hope I don't wait until Spring to post again.

I particularly like the idea behind the 'Change' coin deposit lamp which is designed to for use in public spaces to encourage people to switch off when they are finished, saving their money and the cost of unnecessary energy wastage.

December skies from home
The colder weather means I haven't spent so much time hanging out of the house windows snapping sunsets but there have been some brief moments where I think I captured the crisp air of December in Scotland.

Argyll In December
I've not been out much this year due to my M.E. so when I get a trip to visit family I drink in the scenery even more than usual. This years winter visit to Argyll had the kind of crisp winter light that changes around each winding loch-side until you reach the ocean (2nd photo). Most of the loch-side photos are of Loch Fyne.

50 minutes of Sunset

Such a lovely changing sunset on the 6th, I went from window to window taking photos in all directions, this is just a very small sample of the changes it went through. So beautiful. As you can see I've given up with writing under photo's as the new Blogger layout makes it such an unbelievable faff. Life is to short to waste time formatting each post and I've forgotten all the html I used to know.
update - I'be decided that since it won't let me write then it has to be all about the image, so i should make them bigger. Old posts with smaller images will still show at their full size when clicked (applies mainly to posts after 2009, prior to that I was making them tiny so my blog allowance wouldn't run out too fast). I hope you like the change.
The photos are set out by direction rather than in the order they were taken. Photo 2 was so bright it lit up inside the house, it was so intense. I wish I had made a video of the transition between the 1st two photos, i think it only took 5 mins to change, would have looked nifty speeded up.
