After the rain...

Dramatic skies at 10pm last week after yet another torrential downpour. It was a bit like being under a stormy sea full of undulating waves, really quite beautiful, and these photo's don't do justice to the intensity of the clouds. The dark bits were so dark, you could almost feel them sagging from the weight of water inside them. We haven't had any consistently dry weather yet, and the forecast for the week is grey skies, rain and an average temp of 12-13ยบ, an echo of last July. The extra wool blanket is back on the bed and I needed a hot water vottle on my feet last night (the cat agreed and spent the night on the bottle too, instead of tucking into my cold arms. He is very unimpressed by all this wet weather and spends a lot of time sheltered under a conifer.

What simple stunning pictures. I keep looking at them and thinking of textilr-y things. I guess that's just how my brain is wired. Really beautiful images though

Cally, I have the hardest time commenting on your blog, on all Blogger blogs, as a matter of fact. I so often want to say something about your photos..(true gems of wisdom I'm sure) but can't work through the process. I deeply hope this summer won't be a repeat of last for you.

woa, what amazing photos. it seriously looks like ocean white wash or those under water images in surf videos. even if the weather is not beautiful in the traditional sense, at least it is dramatically beautiful.

Wow. Those photos are amazing! They look like something out of a "second coming" sci-fi movie. Thanks for sharing!
