Tiny harvest

My 1st blueberry! There bush is only 3 inches high so there are only five berries this year, but I can honestly say it was the best blueberry I have ever tasted. Grow little bush, grow.
Update: It produced about 64 berries the next year. Yee-ha! More details on my Folia pages.

growing your own crops is the best, isn't it? It's one of the few things I missed when we gave up the house.

Next year, I hope you have many more berries.

ah so pretty! i had a similar joy today with my first cherry tomato! it's like a concentrated burst of flavor which reminds you of what the vegetable actually was meant to taste like, doesn't it?
such joy!

I had my fourth handful of the year down here in London Cally, straight in my porridge for breakfast, delicious! Single plant I've had for about 3 years now, lives in a long tom pot under a phoenix palm I have, so the birds don't get at it before me. Not the prettiest plant in the world but no trouble at all, must get a couple more. Sorry to here about your dog, hope all's well.

it's beautiful! nothing is better than a berry picked fresh, from a plant that you have tended.

Oh, I love it, a tiny blue berry bush yielding its first delicious crop. And such a gorgeous blue berry too, it's strange seeing it so big, if I didn't know what it was I'd see a burnt Japanese clay vessel...
Too tired to read through blogs still, catching up slowly, but your pix as usually are great, esp. those of the rain clouds, they're just amazing. The clouds sagging, strangely I'm thinking of cows udders just before milking... Also that there's something brewing, like in a big gravity-upturned cauldron, witches chanting their spells... BEAUTIFUL.

Congratulations sweetheart. I'm really very envious. 3 years ago I gave up my beautiful garden when I moved into hopsital accomodation. I long for a time when I'll be able to grow things again.

Course I have plans to use them as dyes or to make paper out of them as well as being able to eat my crops but then I'm bit obsessed.

Imagine next years feast!
