SPT

Tuesday, self portraits, I forgot last week. Actually, I didn't forget, but it was so late when I remembered and then the moment was gone. Also I finally discovered that they are meant to be themed! I had no idea that there was a theme set and that the current one is TIME. Seems fitting that I ran out of TIME last week.

So to make up for it here is a photo of me that took a long time. Can you see me? I'm the shy one near the back!

I left Scotland at about 2.30am, arrived at the photo destination at 4am and the photographer didn't finish with us tll 9am... and believe me, when you are the kind of girl who doesn't even wear skirts cause she's self concious about her legs (and the rest) then you can imagine this was a long time for a photo like this. But I wanted to challenge myself. And I wanted to have something to email my friends about that didn't involve terrible tales of my house renovation or having no water, no heating etc. So dull. But this wasn't dull at all!

It was a very surreal day but I had the best time. I took lots of photo's around Newcastle and Gateshead afterwards and then we went to Alnwick Castle (pronounced 'anik', it's where they filmed Hogwarts for Harry Potter). I didn't go into the Castle though, it was the fabulous treehouse and gardens that I had my eyes on.

I LOVE that treehouse. It's what I want my house to look like when it's finished. Not the turrets you understand (though we had a house with a turret when I was a kid!) but just the whole thing of different kicds of wood shigles etc. All the sections having their own character and secret little places and hidey holes and windows with shutters. The awful thing was that after a full on day of photo taking my batteries ran out at the treehoues so I only got 6 photo's. I cried, quite a lot.

Someone has Flikr photos of the treehouse in winter here

Eek, not finished but got to run, last part of a good TV drama thing has just started and I'm still in the house of no TV!!!!

Im guessing that was a Spencer Tunick (spelling??) shoot? Very exciting, and very cold looking!! Im loving your latest posts, all the goodies and links, you are causing me to spend hours of trawling the internet....for a change.

Aren't you a brave one! I hope you weren't too cold waiting for that long in the buff.

The black and white lights you posted about would look fabulous in a sparse modern interior - not what my home looks like, but I really like them anyways.

There is a book out on tree-houses, have you seen it? the name escapes me, but its a FAB book!

I would have stayed in the tree house, naked outside exposed with others is a daring challenge. Blof dares are enough for me! Way to go, how did life look from your angle?

The views from my angle were many and varied! For one shot we all had to crouch down head to toe, which in point of fact meant head to bottom, and there was a very hairy one right by my face!

that is so impressive that you would bare all for that, I am afraid the lens might not be wide enough to capture me ;) That must be the best SPT!

Hey Cally

Last year I went to Alnwick gardens to do a little photoshoot for the website I was running. I'd bought a flashy new camera especially, with an expensive extra memory card......Yep, lost it somewhere between the water features and the tree house. Tears were shed. I need to go back again this summer and wipe out the black memory.....

Oh Poor You, what harrowing story of your day. Like me, I bet you were glad there was so much foliage to hide behind during teary moments.

I hope you have a fantastic trip next time round and I'd love to see the photo's from it if you put them on your website.
