Book binding

Sketchbooks from the '90's

Too tired to post so here is a close up of the binding on some of my handmade college sketchbooks.
They are usually very imperfect but I get enormous pleasure making sketch books and artists books, and I love imperfections.

Lovely image. And I commend you for making your own sketch books. I think that is something I will have to try in the future - I have this 'thing' for beautiful paper and find it near impossible to find the perfect sketchbook. Usually I just work on separate sheets and collate them all in an accoridan folder - it seems to work for me. In terms of my visual diary it's pretty cool because I can organise my ideas in separate files. I like that. Though, in all honesty the whole thing is still a mess - I'm not the most organised person in the world.

And those papercuts below are so gorgeous. I daren't think of the time and pain involved in cutting tracing paper like that! Beautiful results though. :)
